About
I'm Addison. I build software alone, or nearly: a harness of agents does the work of a team, and running that harness as a solo developer has become its own discipline. Most of the writing here is about it.
The main thing I'm building with it is BelowNew, a price comparison site for Apple products, along with a few other projects. I'm based in Austin.
I was most recently at EcoCart, leading the engineering, product, and design org, taking the company into post-purchase with the acquisition of ShipInsure, and putting AI at the center of how the engineering team works. I was previously head of product at Dieta Health, where we built AI-driven symptom tracking for IBS and IBD patients, ran clinical deployments with Cedars-Sinai and Mayo Clinic, and published a study validating the model against inflammation biomarkers. I started my career in clinical research as a software engineer and product manager at Pitt CTSI, working on Pitt+Me. My first foray into startup land was Sylo Music, as a professional hanger-outer with some tough lessons to show for it.
I also designed and built Olympic snowboarder Shaun White's web and e-commerce platforms, offline for now while his Whitespace brand takes over. Hopefully they'll be back soon.
In a past life I maintained a few open source projects: pandas-datareader, iexfinance, and tmux-sidebar-plus.
